Bio – The Bad Guy Experiment

Roberto Priori (Guitar)

Born in Bologna, Italy, Roberto had his musical start on classic guitar but thanks to his brother Paolo he soon got caught by the rock bug, switched to electric guitar and founded a band, which, after several adjustments, turned out to be Danger Zone…Danger Zone’s first studio effort “Victim of time” was released shortly after, on vinyl, while roberto kept taking lessons with Maurizio Solieri and Moris Fabbri… After demo tapes and gigs all around Italy, in 1992 D.Z. moved to Los Angeles and recorded an album for the U.S market…
Producer Jody Gray, whom Roberto worked with during the D.Z. sessions, soon offered him the opportunity to compose instrumental music for radio and TV-oriented sound libraries…
By the end of 1993 he is back in Italy, still keeping steady work with Radical Entertainment (which later will release his first solo CD, called “Under Control”)…
In 1994 he is an in-demand session player, recording for several artits as well as jingles and themes for Raiuno and Zecchino d’oro He plays also in Nomadi’s “Tributo ad Augusto” CD….
In 1995 he’s called to join the popular pop band 883, where he plays for 5 years while doing some session works for other artists as Eugenio Finardi.
As the long-time collaboration with 883 comes to an end, in 2001 he releases his own instrumental solo CD titled “Avoid yawed flight”, featuring Michele Luppi on vocals on two tracks…
He keeps working both as a musician and as a recording and mastering engineer engineer in his own PriStudio…
In 2006 he co-founded a band named Morphology…Their artistic career began with the production of their self-titled album “Morphology”.
Only a few weeks after the release of the album, the single “Such a Shame” began getting heavy radio play on Virgin Radio and Radio 105, which also added “Johnny Come Home” and especially “Green Wall”, one of the two original tracks on the CD, to its rotation. In the beginning of 2009 they began working on their own material, producing and finalizing the album “Overlord Masque”.In 2011 Danger Zone get back together and immediately release the  never published record “Line Of Fire” :The band starts immediately to write new songs and release the return album “Undying” in 2012 and “Closer To Heaven” in 2016. The band is currently touring supporting the latest record.

Roberto Drovandi (Bass)

Italian bass player, composer and producer. Since 1991 he’s member of the italian band Stadio.,with them he has recorded many albums, made a lot of tours in Italy and Europe and taken part to a myrad of live Tv events like the “famous” Sanremo festival Winner 2016 edition.

Very young, at seventeen, he started as a session man and played with artists like: Paolo Conte, Luca Carboni, Eugenio Finardi, 883, Patty Pravo, Bruno Lauzi. He has played live and in studio with great musicians like Vinnie Colaiuta, Ray Mantilla, Paolo Fresu, Solis, String Quartet, Lucio Dalla, Eddie Martinez. He’s also a succesful composer. He has written Irene Grandi’s hit “Prima di partire per un lungo viaggio”, together with Gaetano Curreri, with the lyrics signed by Vasco Rossi

Paolo Caridi (Drums)

In Summer 2008, He takes part in his first professional project, Killing Touch. This project receives many approvals thanks to “One of a Kind”, the first album of the band. In 2009 He joins the instrumental trio Angels & Demons with whom He performs in the most important national events as: Eurobass Day, Day Guitar, Music Italy Show, Second hand Guitar, Music on Air, MAF. In 2011 He starts to play with the Michele Luppi Band. The band plays AOR music in the biggest live clubs of northern Italy. In 2011 He joins Arthemis with whom He records “We Fight”. He tours in Spain and the UK  and performs in some of the biggest european festivals such as Hammerfest UK and the Gods of Metal 2012. In 2011 He joins the Bad Boys. The band shares the stage with the American guitarist Reb Beach (Whitesnake, Winger, Dokken, Alice Cooper) in his Italian gigs. He also plays with more important artists like Kiko Loureiro, Michael Angelo Batio, Reb Beach, Allan Holdsworth, Doug Aldrich, Chad Wackerman, Frank Gambale, etc. He also works as session man in studio with bands and artists such as Michele Luppi, Seven Virtues, Synful Ira, Ice Flame, Khaled Abbas, Matteo Venturi, etc.

Pier Mazzini (Keyboards)

is a keyboard player born in 1979. He starts playing at the age of 16 with some local  metal bands as Whitchuntes, Hraswelg and Silverlady.

During this period he has the opportunity to work with some great musicians as Olaf Thorsen and Michele Luppi and he also work with the well known manager Pat Scalabrino.

In 2001 he begins to work as a professional musician in the club scene all around Italy, playing with bands, tribute bands and orchestras as Diva, Soliti Noti, Sensi Di Colpa, Muppet Suicide, Memory 80, Omar Lambertini Band, etc.

From 2008 he concentrate his efforts on creating original material and he produces two albums under the german label “Avenue Of Allies” with his band named Perfect View, an AOR project that finds great success with the enthusiasts of this style all around the world.

The band also finds a record deal in Japan and plays as support act for bands like Harem Scarem.

He’s also known for his work as studio session player for many bands and artists like Saints Trade, Ice Flame, GC Project, Rain, Matteo Venturi, etc.

In 2016 he plays on six  songs on the third Danger Zone’s album called “Closer Th Heaven” and he joins the band becoming a permanent member of the band.

Bio Ita

Roberto Priori (Chitarra)

Nato a Bologna, Roberto Priori comincia a studiare chitarra classica ma presto, grazie al fratello Paolo, si dedica completamente al rock e fonda un gruppo che, dopo vari cambiamenti, prende il nome di Danger Zone. Il primo album realizzato dalla band si chiama “Victim Of Time”e mentre con il gruppo suona nei locali, Roberto continua a studiare con Maurizio Solieri e Moris Fabbri.

Dopo aver realizzato vari demotapes e suonato in giro per l’Italia, il gruppo registra un disco per il mercato americano e nel 1992 si trasferisce a Los Angeles.

Il produttore Jody Gray gli offre l’opportunità di realizzare musiche strumentali per spot e programmi radio-televisivi, lavoro che proseguirà anche al suo ritorno in Italia alla fine del 1993.

Nel 1994 comincia il suo lavoro di session player per Raiuno, Zecchino D’Oro e vari altri.

Nel 1995 viene chiamato dagli 883 con i quali suonerà per 5 anni, pur proseguendo il lavoro con altri artisti come ad esempio Eugenio Finardi. Nel 2001, terminata la sua esperienza con gli 883 e come turnista,  pubblica il suo cd strumentale “Avoid Yawed Flight”

Roberto Drovandi (Basso)

Dal 1992 nella formazione stabile degli Stadio con i quali ha inciso decine di album, partecipato a centinaia di concerti e che ha visto l’apice della carriera con il 2016 e la vincita del festival di Sanremo.

Ha suonato con tantissimi artisti quali: Paolo Conte, Luca Carboni, Max Pezzali, Eugenio Finardi collaborando con musicisti di levatura anche internazionale come Vinnie Colaiuta e tanti altri.

Ha scritto canzoni anche per altri autori come, per fare un esempio, prima di partire per un lungo viaggio di Irene Grandi, assieme a Gaetano Curreri con il testo di Vasco Rossi.

Dal 2013 è anche produttore e promuove artisti attraverso la sua etichetta Twins104.

Paolo Caridi (Batteria)

Dall’estate 2008 viene contattato per entrare a far parte del suo primo importante progetto professionale, i Killing Touch, progetto che riscuote ottimi consensi grazie a “One of a Kind”, il primo lavoro in studio della band,  ed al “One of a Kind Tour” durante 2009 e 2010. Nel 2009 entra a far parte del trio strumentale Angels & Demons con i quali si esibisce nei più importanti eventi nazionali del settore come: Eurobass Day, Guitar Day, Music Italy Show, Second Hand Guitar, Music On Air, MAF. Nel 2011 entra a far parte della Michele Luppi Band suonando nei principali live club del nord Italia.

Nel 2011 entra a far parte degli Arthemis con i quali registra “We Fight” ed effettua tour in Spagna e UK, esibendosi in oltre in alcuni dei principali festival europei come Hammerfest UK e il Gods of Metal 2012. Dal 2011 entra a far parte dei Bad Boys, la band che accompagna il chitarrista americano Reb Beach (Whitesnake, Winger, Dokken, Alice Cooper) nelle sue date italiane. Ha condiviso il palco e suonato assieme ad artisti come: Kiko Loureiro, Micheal Angelo Batio, Reb Beach, Allan Holdsworth, Doug Aldrich, Chad Wackerman, Frank Gambale, etc.

Ha coltivato anche un intensa attività in studio di registrazione con band ed artisti come: Michele Luppi, Seven Virtues, Synful Ira, Ice Flame, Khaled Abbas, Matteo Venturi, etc.

Comincia all’età di 16 anni a suonare le tastiere con alcune Heavy Metal band locali come i Whitchuntes, Hraswelg and Silverlady.

Durante quel periodo ha la possibilità di conoscere e di collaborare con personaggi come Olaf Thorsen, Michele Luppi e Pat Scalabrino.

Nel 2001 comincia la sua attività professionale come musicista in molti tributi, cover band ed orchestre, Diva, Soliti Noti, Sensi Di Colpa, Muppet Suicide, Memory 80, Omar Lambertini Band, ecc.

Dal 2008 concentra i suoi sforzi nella creazione di un progetto di musica AOR inedita, lavorando con la band dei Perfect View realizza due album per l’etichetta tedesca “Avenue Of Allies” ed ottiene un ottimo riscontro dalla critica di settore a livello mondiale.

Il gruppo ottiene anche un contratto in Giappone e suona come opener per band come gli Harem Scarem.

E’ anche un apprezzato session player per gruppi e progetti artistici tipo Saints Trade, Ice Flame, GC Project, Rain, Matteo Venturi, ecc.

Nel 2016 ha partecipato alla realizzazione di 6 brani dell’ultimo disco dei Danger Zone, ed a seguito di quella esperienza è entrato stabilmente nel line-up della band.
